And by that I mean literally. It's now sometime after 12am on Tuesday. It was a long weekend in this part of the world. Yay! Or something.

But a random thing, letting the weekend emails build up is a bad idea. It's rather worrying how quickly they build up in 2-3 days. And that was with the occasional check.

Anyway, onward to random rambles about life... And stuff. )

1. Yes, I know Fringe has been back for 2 weeks, but that's a minor detail.

2. It's not that I'm ridiculously over excited by this or anything... But seriously *does happy dance* (I choose not to consider the sad and sorry state of my life that I'm am so ridiculously happy about the return of TV shows).

3. This weeks Once Upon a Time was great.

GoT, Fringe and OUaT ramble, there could be spoilers... )

So, to reinforce the idea that I have too much time on my hands...

I finished watching Game of Thrones. 5 episodes a day, only takes 2 days. Well, nights if you want to be technical. Not really the point.

Would love to be eloquent and meaningful about this show, but I think I actually need time to come up with more to say than it's absolutely bloody brilliant.

Game of Thrones ramblings and thoughts... )

On a completely different note, lj is being a shit again. I haven't really been getting any notifications, which is just really frustrating.

....and I think I'm beginning to understand the appeal.

I think I'll start with the fact this show looks absolutely amazing. But already I can see more than just the aesthetic appeal. While it's still early the plot is already intriguing me. I mean I've got some ideas where the story might go, but I like not really knowing.

The characters. Yeah, love the characters. Well, love to hate some of them, but then it's early and I may yet like them later. But I like how much depth the characters already have.

I think I'll go back to watching. Wonder how many I can watch before I have to sleep.... This show just kind of drags you in.

I'll ramble on more about the show after a few more episodes....

I'm hoping there might be someone out there who can give me an answer.

I haven't read the books or watched the show yet. I've been meaning to read the books for a few years now, but I don't buy books a lot, given what they generally cost here... Not the point. Haven't read yet. Would like to though. Can probably find someone to borrow off or I'll splurge a bit... Again, not the point.

As for the show, well, I've got it, but I haven't watched it yet for a simple reason. I'm not sure which to do first. So I'm trying to find people who've done both and see whether they'd suggest reading the books or watching the show first. Or telling me it doesn't matter is acceptable too. Because as much as I want to watch the show, I'm wondering if that'll in anyway negatively affect my impressions of the books.

Wow, that was a long way to ask a short question.

tl;dr...
Game of Thrones - Books or show first??
