Yes, I'm behind the times... It's been a bit of a crazy weekend here. And I had to wait for the internet to catch up and then find time... But now, I'm watching it. Running commentary included.. :P
Should I mention I'm not going into this with high hopes for what the episode will hold? So I might seem snarky and rude. I'd apologise but it's my journal... :D

- Not many can send the Doctor messages? SERIOUSLY? Seems like every second episode he's getting a mysterious message from someone....
- Gee, I thought the Doctor liked to help people? Or at least wanted to help people.
- Seriously hope they explain why the Dalek lights suddenly grow out of people's heads. Cause, uh, wasn't the light part of the casing before? I'm going to assume I missed something about Daleks in the past 6 seasons that explains that....
- Well the Daleks were never going to shoot the Doctor before the opening credits.
- Why would someone who is trying to keep themself safe be wearing something so damn impractical?
- Amy, the Doctor-whisperer there.
- Riiiiight, wait. Dalek prison camp? Insane Daleks, that hate more than the rest? Wouldn't the Daleks want them in charge?
- Ok, I do like the fact she checked the Doctor is real. But souffles? Really?
- Gee, for a genius you're a bloody idiot. How could he not see that the predator of the Daleks was him (aside from the fact he hasn't done anything to them since his metacrisis was around, and before that well... Let me think...)
- Least Rory has a good point.
- Since when did the Doctor ignore a person who obviously needed some kind of help?
- Rory, always practical that one.
- Living or dead, living or dead... Sigh, dumbest genius I know.
- Interesting, this Doctor caring about the emotional lives of his companions. Someone needs to get an ice cream for Amy (was that rude?)
- Well, it was either going to be Amy or Rory who lost their wrist band.
- "Egg, egg, egg-sterm-in-ate"... And here I was thinking we'd get a bad joke about eggs and souffles.
- Oswin, flirting with everyone. Mostly Rory, so that's an interesting change. Does every girl on the show flirt? Are they automatically a huge flirt? Do all women flirt this much?
- Who killed all the Daleks? For the first time in.... Well, I actually don't know the last time the Doctor himself actually killed a Dalek. Normally it's a companion, some poor random bystanders... Anyone BUT the Doctor.
- Gee, glad someone is asking questions about how Oswin survived. Genius or not.
- Oh buggerit all, the power of love will conquer all? Ok, I get that it's important but seriously...
- Don't tell me they're going to actually address the way that Amy and Rory's relationship has grown? Nope, nevermind, it's about Amy not being able to have kids. So now she's a noble self-sacrificing woman who will never be complete because she can't have kids. F**k you Moffat.
- Intensive care, survivors of wars and such. Oh look, Daleks who survived encounters with the Doctor. Pfff, he's not exactly that scary if there's alway survivors is he?
- And is it just me or does not one of these Daleks actually have their
whiskweapon? - She's a Dalek. Well, not exactly surprised. There was plenty of hints, and the eggs, egg and egg-sterm-in-ate was probably the most obvious hint.
- Least it wasn't love, just human nature and a bit of genius.
- Rory and Amy reconciling... In the middle of a disaster, of course. No wonder there's problems between 'em.
- *Sighs* Bloody hell Moffat, first episode back and you're already on about the "Doctor Who?" thing again? STOP GOING ON ABOUT THE DOCTOR WHO? THING. I'M SICK OF IT ALREADY!

Date: 2 September 2012 07:22 pm (UTC)The Doctor's reaction to relationship trouble is to have an adventure, but that doesn't work. And I don't exactly think he's qualified to give ANYONE relationship advice considering how he dealt with his own past relationships. In 'All Roads Lead Home' it will definitely be Rose talking to Amy and Rory, because the Doctor is a little too alien to get human relationships. Add in that he's a coward when it comes to those closest to him and you've got one more reason for him to stay away. I could get that he feels guilty, because their daughter is gone because of him, but that's about it.

It's just it seems any problems for Moffat's come down to woman and kids I swear.
I definitely agree, the Doctor doesn't know how to handle a human relationship. He certainly wouldn't have any clue how to fix one. And is much more likely to run away than hang around and try to sort out the mess. Especially if he's in some way responsible.
