All in space. Yep, I finally got around to watching 'Dinosaurs on a Spaceship' and because reviews require actually putting together thoughts at the end, which I'm too lazy for, I figured I'd go with my normal approach...

Because then my thoughts require no organisation...
  • Is there some rule that now states every woman to appear on the show must want the Doctor? Sigh, as long as it's not the whole point of the episode.
  • Lestrade! Heh, in the early 1900's., in Africa.
  • Finally, some look at Rory's family! With Weasley... Heh, and I half expected him to explain electricity. Apparently they have a typical father/son relationship. And he's now been dragged along. Yes, you are that hopeless Doctor. And charming Amy, make it all Rory's responsibility. Actually who am I kidding, I'd do the same...
  • Aww, Amy sounded a little jealous there about possibly being replaced. Something normal.
  • Now that's what I like to see, the Doctor actually getting excited about something. Not a common occurance anymore. Dinosaurs on a spaceship is a good reason too!
  • He hates teleports, that makes sense. And Rory's dad is actually rather amusing, the unimpressed traveller is often amusing. What man doesn't carry a trowel??
  • Amy fangirling over Nefertiti! (Memories of Rose and Queen Victoria there).
  • Ahhh, just what the Doctor always needed, to travel with a parent and child. I wonder if he had brief flashbacks. And those robots remind me of the ones from 'The Fifth Element'.
  • And what is with these robots. They're kind of the typical dopey thugs. Except metal. I like 'em.
  • Childish but fun. Playing fetch with with a dinosaur.
  • I'm not sure how I feel about Amy playing the Doctor, but in some ways I'm rather amused by it. Though seriously, no flirting? This coming from Amy? Personally, I like the idea of the flirting, especially since for once it isn't with the Doctor. Still nice to see that Amy has actually learnt some things while travelling.
  • Old ugly guy. Filch. It's Filch right? Hmm, I wonder... He's obviously up to something. Spaceship with a lot of dinosaurs and missing original passengers, yeah... Up to something. Hmm, dinosaurs. Selling the dinosaurs, I'd reckon.
  • Rory and his Dad, I like watching their interactions. Get the feeling there was more to that brief exchange about nursing supplies, but even so, it's just nice to see his family.
  • I was right, he's a trader. And how much is the Doctor worth... Wonder if that's alive or dead? Or nothing. The way he says worthless suggests some personal view there.
  • Oh look, he got rid of the Silurians cause they were in the way. Charming.
  • Feels like the Doctor is judging him. Probably cause the Doctor is judging him.
  • Riding a dinosaur, that looks like fun. Yep, the other ball is the answer, knew they'd been bought up for a reason.
  • Rory's queen? Yeah, maybe best to leave that quiet. And asking if the Doctor has a queen... Well, the TARDIS?
  • Mind you, Nefertiti is rather upfront. And I've got to say I do like Amy's way of putting it. Human sleeping potion or walking innuendo. Wonder if Riddell has met Jack??
  • Ahh look, now he wants Nefertiti... Well, I can imagine if she disappeared out of history it would get messy... Aww, poor dinosaur had to suffer :(
  • The Doctor has a plan. Well, that's normal. Him not explaining the plan, also normal. The Doctor calling Rory's dad a Pond...Yeah, no. But that aside, at least they've built up to a decent reason for his dad being there. Hey look, he called them monkeys...
  • OH an actual emotional moment between Amy and the Doctor, about Amy still waiting for the TARDIS to show up. Interesting change in the answer, say she'd be there to til the end of him, but when Amy said vice versa, intentional or not, could definitely see shades of Ten. That reminder he outlives humans. Nice to see some real emotion anyway.
  • Amy wanting someone to take lessons in gender politics. Well, there's one way to know the episode isn't written by Moffat. But at least his behaviour kind of suits the time he was picked up in.
  • Aww, the adorable similarities between Rory and his Dad. Bonding, like boys, over their new toys. In this case a spaceship. "Better than golf." Hehe.
  • I'm actually quite liking Nefertiti. Nice to know she's strong enough to stand up for herself.
  • Interesting, there's that Doctor who will let the bad guys die. Without blinking. Been a while since we've seen in him such a direct light. And then sad, but hiding it.
  • Bahaha, I like it! Rory's dad takes a few trips. Now if only we could keep him for a little while!
Overall, I actually liked this one. It's fun, a bit silly. I mean don't get me wrong, it's not perfect, but definitely one of the better episodes recently. Maybe because it seems quite happy to not really be anything but an episode of fun. And it's very likely I'm crazy, but it's good to see a bit of that emotional jumping around in the Doctor again, in a single episode. There's that true giddy and childish excitement which I don't recall seeing much with Eleven, that joy to see something new or odd. Then there's that cold, angry, merciless side that will allow someone to die. Yep, liked this one much more than the previous one.

I might have more thoughts, but ummm.. later if I can think of 'em :P

He needs his own spin-off series... ;)

Could we just have him as the next companion? ;)

They were so the robots from Fifth Element! Agrees with much of this. I adore the "Queen Amy" comment.

They were!! Well, with a personality overhaul, but still, a millenia or 2 would probably manage that well enough ;)

The Queen Amy comment made me giggle. Especially when she said she was Rory's queen...

The TARDIS is totally the Doctor's Queen! :D

... and you now have me shipping Riddell/Jack, just a little bit.

Well, we all know if there's one woman who can tell the Doctor what to do it's the TARDIS! :D

Hehehe, I now want a fic that has Jack and Riddell at least meeting, even if it's just to compare shags...

Nope, nothing wrong with me at all, why'd you ask???

lol, Riddell can join the Torchwood-team. Him and Neffie could have sexy fun-times with the rest of them :D

Oh oh! That's priceless! Neffie decides that the 21st century is much more fun than the early 20th and learn lots of great things from Gwen. Including ways to make Riddell suffer without actually doing anything to him.

Riddell starts following Jack around, trying to learn his secrets of success with sentient beings :P

Hehe! So glad there's more people who had the same response! But they walked on and all I could think was 'I know those robots!!' :D

I loved every single minute (apart from the killing the adorable Triceratops bit) and laughed myself almost sick. It was also nice to see Dark!Doctor again (shades of Nine there, definitely).

Also a nod to Four! "I'm going to look at ROCKS!" - OMG I totally fangirled!

I took it for the ridiculous, cheesy romp that it was and I'm very glad I did :D

The killing of the Triceratops wasn't nice but I thought it was so much fun and I was giggling for most of the episode!

I didn't know about the nod to Four, but yay!

Word for this episode was FUN! :D

IA - fun episode, if not the best. Chibnall should get a gold star for writing something not boring.

I didn't hate or dislike it, and it was kinda fun. I liked it waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Asylum of the Daleks, that's for sure. The main thing I wasn't that comfortable with was Nefertiti's ~attraction~ to the Doctor. rme at almost every woman appearing on the show having a crush on him. And I even liked Ridell and his attitude - because whenever he made a sexist comment one of the others called him out on it, and by the end, I think he learned his lesson. I especially liked Brian. Cannot unsee him as Arthur Weasley and I will forever associate him with trowels and rubber ducks. XD

I know what you mean about every woman having a crush on the Doctor, gets rather frustrating. I like that Neffie ended up not pining over the Doctor. Riddell was amusing in the sense he was openly sexist but it kept getting thrown back at him. Plus you know that Neffie will keep him in line ;)

Brian was just too much fun. It was nice to see a character like him, the type that's not impressed and rather annoyed he's been dragged along. Mind you, there was a few times where I kept thinking 'Weasley!' :D

Still, fun! I miss the fuin episodes!
