Fandom-ish meme thingo...

So I decided to steal that fandom-y meme from annissag and isilienelenihin.

Mostly 'cause I haven't done one in ages and, you know, it might amuse me for a little while.

1. Your current OTP: Doctor/Rose. Yeah, that was obvious. Though I could say I mostly ship TenToo/Rose and Nine/Rose. I think I tend to ship Ten/Slap a fair bit. My bad?

2. A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind: Being as unoriginal as I am, gotta say Doctor/Master. I blame fic entirely for that!

3. A pairing you have never liked and probably never will: Well, there's the obvious Doctor/River, I could rant on the reasons I can't stand that ship but we'd be here for hours.

4. A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t:  Doctor/Jack. As part of an OT3 I can buy it, but on their own... Nah. Well, more specifically, not any Doctors we've currently seen and Jack. Maybe one of the later ones. I'll get back to you when we see 'em.

5. Have you added anything stupid/cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what: 2 words. Spare Parts.

6. What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom: As an actual part of a fandom? Erm... a couple of years probably. Like I can remember that long ago. More recently, I must be getting close to a year and a half of playing in the DW fandom.

7. Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it: Buffy/Angel. At least it left me somewhat prepared for an OTP that would make me want to cry!


8. Do you prefer characters from real action series or anime series: Real. Never watched anime.

9. Has the internet caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why: Nope. I just tend to avoid large sections of fandoms if needed.

10. Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it all over tumblr/LJ/DW: Bloody Supernatural. Watched it a bit when it first aired, got sidetracked early on. Spent too much time on LJ and tumblr and decided to give it another go. Now I'm waiting for S8.

11. How do you feel about the other people in your current fandom: The part of the DW fandom I play around in, love it! Most of it...


12. Your favorite fanartist/author gives you one request, what do you ask for: The biggest problem with this question is the person asking assumes I could pick a favourite?

13. Your favorite fanart or fan artist: Ummm, erm.... Oh, I know redcirce! Yeah, ok, so there's actually heaps, but she was the first I thought of :P

14. Your favorite fanfiction or fan author: Yeah... NO! I am not going to try and pick just 1.

15. Choose a song at random, which OTP does it remind you of: How do I choose a song at random? Umm, how bout the next song on my iPod. Oh this could be dangerous...Umm, right, this might take a minute. 5000+ songs and most of them I have no thoughts about. Here we go Second Chance by Shinedown. TenToo/Rose.

16. Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas): How bout... Rose teaches anger management classes and Nine and/or Ten and/or TenToo have all been made to attend! So, I suck at ideas. There's a reason my fics are few and far between.

17. A ship you’ve abandoned and why: Umm, kind of Buffy/Angel. But then, I still hang on to it a bit as well. I don't know....

18. A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships: Because of isilienelenihin (damn her) I now kind of ship Jenny/River. Other than that, I'm not actually a big shipper...

19. Show us an example of your personal headcanon: Which one? There's my more sensible (read likely) one, which is Rose and TenToo have to deal with a whole pile of things in Pete's World, but within about 6 months are happily together and remain so.
The rest can stay in my head. And in case someone decides to ask, no, Spare Parts is not part of my head canon. Most of the time :P

20. Do you remember what your first fanwork was: Yeah huh. Blame jer832, who I somehow ended up writing a fic with over at BWR on one of the challenge pics.

21. Self-rec: What's your favorite fanwork you've created? They might be totally ridiculous, but I've got to say Spare Parts. Despite the fact they tend to require a lack of sobriety to be written and it's all other people's fault, they are a lot of fun :D

22. Are you one of those fans who can’t watch anything without shipping: I don't tend to ship much actually. Just sometimes a relationship will drag me in and I'll stand there wondering what happened.

23. 5 favourite characters from 5 different fandoms: Rose Tyler (Doctor Who), Wash (Firefly), Sam Vimes (Discworld), Walter (Fringe) and Daenerys (Game of Thrones).

24. 3 OTPs from 3 different fandoms: Doctor/Rose (Doctor Who), Olivia/Peter (Fringe) and bugger... Hang on, I'll think of one. Probably gotta be Buffy/Angel (Buffy) for old times sake.

25. A fandom you’re in but have no ships from: Bugger, this would be most. Top of my head would be Supernatural.

26. Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go: It was my friend who suggested Towchwood to me, that eventually led to me watching Doctor Who. That said, he refuses to watch Doctor Who cause he doesn't like David Tennant. I tried convincing him and have since given up. Normally friends and I just talk about the shows we like but cause none of them watch it I ended up finding the fandom online. Something I haven't done since Buffy was first airing.

And yeah, I don't really see Doctor/Jack either. I don't see OT3 either, though, so maybe I'm not the best to relate with xD But Doctor/Slap can be my new OTP!! 8D

As for the OT3, well, very much each to their own. But I admit it's not up there with my Doctor/Rose feels :P
But I think Ten/Slap (punch) is becoming a shiny new OTP for me!

Seriously, Jenny/River is so much more plausible than River/Doctor! Oh, but it does require that you acknowledge that Jenny is alive in the first place! -.- I really can't wait to start writing their relationship because it's something I've never done before and it's gonna be so much fun. :D

I second your Doctor/Jack feels--I've never been able to get behind it except as part of Doctor/Rose/Jack, and even that's a bit beyond me now. XP

Yeah, I know what you mean. Doctor/Rose/Jack is a lot less common for me these days. But still, some of the OT3 is good.

River/Jenny is an interesting thought. I don't get Doctor/Jack either. Yeah, I get that they're both immortal, but Ten is such an enormous jerk to him. Rose/Nine/Jack I can kinda see because they all actually seem to like each other. Jack deserves better.

Exactly. I know some people ship it, but I'm just like ??? Really, you don't think that Jack is better with Ianto, or someone who isn't a complete arse to him??

I think it's something to do with the term 'fandom', makes people go bonkers!
