Uni may take up time...

But it doesn't stop me watching TV....
Ok, so I've been a bit quiet lately. But hey, nothing new there. Apparently since my house mate has started working 6 hours away, leaving me with the house to myself for 12 days out of 14, I've been watching a lot more TV. Or more to the point catching up on all the shows I'd been meaning to watch. So I decided to make a list of the shows I've watched in the past month or so. Why? I feel like it....
I mean there's the shows I watch as they're on....
Once Upon a Time - There's something about twisted fairy tales I adore. I think I'll blame Roald Dahl.
The Walking Dead - Yep, zombies.
Castle - I think I half watch this because Nathan Fillion is just awesome :D
Bones - Well, when it's actually on. Though I keep flip-flopping about how I feel about this season anyway
How I Met Your Mother - Yep, I'm a sucker.
The Big Bang Theory - See above.
Modern Family - This is just too much fun.
Fringe - There is NOTHING bad about this show. Except occasionally trying to keep track of which universe you're in.
Spartacus - What? Ok, the story is actually really good! The perve factor is just a really nice bonus.
Then there's the shows that might be a bit older but I've only recently got around to watching.
Game of Thrones - Absolutely brilliant. 'Nuff said. Season 2 NOW would be nice.
Being Human - UK version. I actually seriously adored this.
Dead Like Me - I'm a little worried my house mate says I'm just like George. Still fun.
Life on Mars - Wish I'd watched this sooner. It's a brilliant show.
Miranda - Ridiculous but funny.
Secret Diary of a Call Girl - And in case I didn't already think Billie Piper was amazing... I saw this. Wow.
The IT Crowd - As a nerd who spent a lot of time helping friends with computer problems, this was fun.
So now comes the problem. Yes, I could spend more time doing uni work, but my brain can only handle so much before I have an urge to run into a wall at great speed. Right, I'm trying to decide what to watch next. I've got a pile of shows people have recommended or just given me and said "Watch". But I can't decide which next. So I'm open to opinions. My list....
Battlestar Galactica
Breaking Bad
Carnivale
Extras
Mad Dogs
Misfits
Sarah Conner Chronicles
Supernatural
The Office
The Vampire Diaries
Warehouse 13
I mean I could just go alphabetical, but where's the fun in that?
(And it's either find something to watch or attempt to get my PS2 working on the new-ish TV so I can play FFX again).

Date: 11 March 2012 03:43 am (UTC)Well, of your to be watched list:
Battlestar Galactica - Surprisingly good. I watched this as it aired and never missed an episode. Some are better than others and it does get into the political situation a bit which can be tedious. I think it was the characters that really kept me watching and a couple fantastic twists. It's one of those that when you get to the super massive twist toward the end, you go back and watch earlier eps to pick out the little hints you might have missed. This is one of the few shows that in the final episode, I cried my eyes out.
Vampire Diaries - You have to be able to get past all the teenage angst - there's tons of it. I didn't get super hooked on this until maybe the 5th or 6th episode. I love the character Damon. He's hot, a bit crazy and that bad boy who wants to be good type character. He gets some of the best lines too.
Warehouse 13 - Not my favorite of all time but it's interesting. Very quirky. There are a couple of characters on it that really grabbed me.

Date: 11 March 2012 03:51 am (UTC)Thanks for the information. Battlestar Galactica is one of those shows people have been telling me to watch for years. I don't mind seeing some of the political situation, as long as it doesn't too overbearing.
Vampire Diaries I've been warned about but told it's worth watching anyway. Told to look past the teenage angst and there's actually a good show there.
As for Warehouse 13, I admit to hearing differing views on that so I'm a little unsure about it.
Thanks for the insights! :)

Date: 11 March 2012 04:05 am (UTC)I agree with the Vampire Diaries assessment. It is worth slogging through the teen angst. Love Damon! After a while Caroline won me over too.
Happy watching!

Date: 12 March 2012 01:25 am (UTC)BSG - planing to see it again from the beginning very soon, cause I was forced to stop watching it in the middle of the third season. Serious, deep themes, with lot of sociology, religious and political issues and big ethical questions.
Warehouse 13 - one of those shows you can watch while you do some other stuff, it's pacey, witty and fun.
Extras - watched quite a while ago. Typical great british quirkiness.
Mad Dogs - a must see. First season is a such a laugh. Second is good, I hope third will be even better. But, take a break from Simmy, Baxter is not so lovable as Sam was. Hot, though...
I am about to start watching Supernatural myself. Wanna swap notes? :)

Date: 12 March 2012 01:29 am (UTC)BSG sounds really interesting. I'll have to watch it soon I think.
It's always good to have shows you can watch while doing other stuff... I've been doing that with some of the ones I've watched lately.
Hmm, you may have a point with holding off on Mad Dogs.
I like your idea. Maybe I should watch Supernatural now ;)

Date: 12 March 2012 04:22 pm (UTC)Though, I'm remembering why I watched the show back then. It is really enjoyable!
(I'm not sure why I stopped watching, but I think it had to do with when it was on...)
But knowing me as I kind of do, there will be a rambly post sharing my thoughts about it, probably when I finish the first season (which at the rate I'm procrastinating will probably be by the weekend).
