Right, so Sherlock is back.

kilodalton's journal. But seriously, why Moffat, why???
I spent half the time trying to figure out if I was missing something about the plot. Apparently not, there just wasn't really one. It's a shame really, I actually really enjoyed the plots from the first season (ignoring some sad plot 'twists''). But in this episode, the plot seemed to come a rather distant second to the, for lack of a better term, 'sex' factor.
It seemed that the episode mostly revolved around making as many sexual references as possible while getting Irene Adler naked as often as allowed. There was a fair few similarities between the Sherlock/Irene and the Doctor/River interactions. I'm accepting this as more proof Moffat only knows one way to write women. Well 2 if you count the 'nagging wife' type.
There was also a disturbing lack of worry/concern over characters. Moffat continues his trend of not killing off main/recurring characters. And completely fails to make them feel even remotely threatened so you just don't fear for them in the slightest.
On a positive note, Gatiss is still wonderful as Mycroft. And apparently he wrote the next episode, so here's hoping....

I love this show, it's slightly disturbing, but in a bloody good way. I have no idea what other people thought of the latest season, but I seriously adored the fact they had Dexter questioning his faith, or lack of. There is something remarkable about the way you can relate to Dexter despite the fact he's essentially a serial killer. I'd guess that would be the writing.
I've always loved Debra, but my heart broke for her this season. I think part of the reason her character is so brilliant is she shows such strength to everyone but underneath it all....

Ok, so I love the show, but since it started there's been a couple of obvious questions, one of them has been when would Debra find out what Dexter does.
Like all good American shows, we end on a cliff hanger and this time around it just happened to be the one that's been expected since the beginning. There's Dexter knife in hand over the body of his latest victim when Debra walks in.
I'm not patient so I just want to say BASTARDS!!

Now this show, brilliantly written, amazing actors playing great characters (especially Walter, love Walter). But a lot of people haven't given it a chance, which is a damn shame. It's part way through season 4 now and it's still fantastic.
I admit when this season first started I was worried, but was relieved to find my fear was unfounded. Now what is really annoying me is how it seems it was running a little inconsistently before it went off for Christmas. I'm really hoping that it will run smoother when it eventually comes back on. Soon, luckily.
What this show is good for is making you think. Sometimes you'll figure out the episode, but you'll miss some thing that proves to be important later. This show is great for a re-watch, it's quite interesting what you can miss...

Right, say what you like, but Sanctuary...
Look, I admit some of the stories are a bit worrying, some of the acting can be a bit patchy and often the effects are... Well, you get the idea. I still adore this show. There's something fun about it.
I admit, I was intrigued by the way they wrapped up season 4. I do like that fact, given there is no word on a 5th season that it can stand as the end of the show. But still, I think I'll miss it if it's gone.

Ahh, a show that I started watching when it first came out, Once Upon A Time.
I don't know what it is about fairy tales being messed with that appeals to me and obviously others given the abundance of altered fairy tales been turned into movies and now TV, but something really does. I love the story that forms the basis of this show.
Honestly not sure what it is about this show I love so much, but I do know I think Robert Carlyle is amazing as Rumplestiltskin. Actually, I'd say most of the acting is very very good. I seriously hope that the rest of the season lives up to its potential. It's always sad when shows can't make it through a full season without messing up.
But why did they have to kill off the Huntsman/Sheriff Graham? I liked his character, the, what's the word I want... Ambiguity(? It'll do for now) of him. Happily this one will be back soon!
Me first thing in the morning? The Walking Dead.
Yep, I like this show. The characters are human, very human. None of them are really exceptional, well, maybe Rick, but they're the ones thrown into this horrifying situation and that forces them to try harder. It's rather fascinating. The group dynamic is close knit yet so very messy, there's love, hate, anger, care, jealousy... In some ways there's a soap opera feel but the heightened emotion makes perfect sense considering the circumstances they are in.
On a more practical note, the effects are pretty damn amazing as is the make-up. Also rather disturbing at time. Very squelchy. The story is strange, in the sense you're not quite sure what's going to happen next despite the fact there is predictable elements. Personally I find it an oddly realistic zombie story... Yes, I realise what I've written. Don't care.
What I hate abut this show - it's not coming back until February. Bastards.

I have to admit to having missed a large chunk of season 3 since hubby was watching while I was asleep due to his shifts and I never caught up, but I've enjoyed season 4. I agree they left it in a good place at the end, so nothing is in desperate need of "finishing" but I hope they do make more.

I really really hope they bring it back, but I mean, at least it won't be like some shows I've watched that end on some annoying cliffhanger.

I'm really not sure how I feel about the Deb being in love with Dexter thing. I mean I can understand the strong attachment to someone who's (mostly) been there for you. I can understand her loving him, in the sense that he's essentially her brother, but the in love thing. Yeah, I don't know about that. It kind of disturbs me really, but... I'm waiting to see what happens I guess.

And I agree, I may miss Rose, Martha, Donna etc, but I'm so very glad we don't have to deal with Moffat writing them.
