And one day, I'll make a normal subject for one of these. Really, I will. But that's not the point. I don't think it ever was, or ever will be...
Erm, I have no idea what I'm on about so on to the actual point here...

Day 17: Favorite Character Reaction About Doctor/Rose. Hrrrmmmm. OK, so I've thought about it. The answer has got to be be Jack in The Doctor Dances. Specfically, this part....




That last line. It's such a perfect way to describe them. Sweet but often oblivious the what's going on around them. Especially when they get involved with each other. Personally, I think I love Jack's reaction here so much cause he's gone from flirting with Rose to realising that the Doctor and Rose are completely hopeless, but you have no real shot of getting between 'em. 

(Yes, I'm choosing to ignore that certain episode in S2. You can't make me acknowledge it. Besides, that was Ten, and he's a bigger idiot.)

This is an amazing scene, and all around, I love the flirtatious energy that flies in this episode. Jack sweeps in and kind of lights a fire in Rose.... but she's still really hoping that the Doctor will get the message -- and then, amazingly HE DOES!! There are many jumping off points in s1 for their relationship to get serious -- but this is the most straightforward.

I still don't know how to do strikethrough, but Ten is more than a little self-destructive wouldn't you say? He has his riskometer turned all the way up to 11. Something of a thrill-seeker and self-sacrificial on top of it. ;_; Hopefully less of that in Cloen and more of the selfless devotion to Rose. :D

Gosh, I just love the look on his face as he sways next to her -- completely focused on her and just SO HOT. rrowr!!!

Oh yes. I love the way Jack swoops in attempting to charm Rose, but pretty much failing miserably because he's not really who she wants. But he works wonderfully to set the Doctor's jealousy off. Which I think shifts their relationship into a whole new level.

But yeah, Ten sometimes seems to forget certain things. Like how important Rose is to him. He tends to remember that better after she's gone.

And oh yeah! That face as they dance/sway here. Guh.

How Rose's clothes don't catch on fire in this scene is beyond me. I don't know how anyone could stay solid while being looked at the way the Doctor looks at Rose here. If I looked up SMOULDER in the dictionary, it would have a picture of Nine's face in this scene.

I totally agree how into each other they are by this point and how obvious it is to Jack. Jack was certainly the spark the Doctor needed to stake his claim.

Oh yeah, I don't know either. Who hasn't wondered what would've happened if Jack hadn't interrupted. His face... Yeah, dictionary definition of smoulder.

Jack was wonderful for that. Making the Doctor make some kind of statement/move with Rose. I mean we know he's lost by this point, but he seems to be in some serious denial til Jack shows up.

I wish he had had more Doctor/Rose/Jack interaction than just two introductory episodes, one fully-ingrained we-know-each-other-and-get-along-so-well episode, and two this-is-goodbye-for-now episodes.

What episode are you talking about, Fogs? I think it's all in your head. But yeah, Ten's a much bigger idiot, but it's really not his fault since a certain writer didn't read the episode before his and, really, no one told him so, so...

Apparently the reason he didn't screw these ones up so much is because RTD was overseeing at least 'The Doctor Dances' fairly closely. (Why he didn't do that in S2 is beyond me)

And yes, I would have loved a bit longer with the three of them, they were so wonderful together (and you just know Jack would have been trying to get 'em together more)

It's the amazing disappearing episode. Ten just takes emotionally stunted to new levels.
