Soooo, Day 04: Favourite Series. If you've seen the past few days, you can probably guess.
Look, I adore S2. It makes me happy and giggly and moves me almost to tears. S3 has the honour of being the shippiest series in a lot of ways. Poor sad!Ten. There are so many things I love about S4.
But when it comes down to it. It's always going to be S1.
The reason it's S1, again? Well, simply because I love watching the development of their relationship. There is, to me, some new level reached, understanding of or aspect discovered of each other and their relationship in pretty much every episode.
I'm not gonna bore you with everyone of 'em. Just a few. But honestly, I can't stress this enough. I loved watching the growth of this.

The Unquiet Dead, responsible for showing the emerging attraction Rose feels to the Doctor and his life.

And despite his exceedingly lame attempt to cover it up, the Doctor's growing attraction to Rose.

Just because in World War Three I love the Doctor's realisation/acceptance of how much Rose might really mean to him.
(And no, I'm not even gonna bother touching Dalek given I've done that 2 days in a row, here and here.)

(In case you're wondering, yes there will be a bunch of answer that will actually involve Ten (and possibly TenToo) but I will happily admit to having a particularly soft spot for Nine and Rose.)

D: That's her gone. Adam's given up. Looks like it's just you and me.
R: Yeah.
D: Good.
R: Yep.
This little exchange in The Long Game. The hints at the jealousy they both have towards each others company.

Father's Day. The Doctor did something stupid because he couldn't say no. Rose did something she shouldn't have because she didn't know better and she was herself, just a human who cared. They still forgive each other.

The Doctor Dances, which could easily be renamed The Doctor gets Jealous. And slightly insulted. But if there's one thing I like about this episode it's how upset the Doctor gets when he discovers Rose doesn't quite see him as a guy to date or 'dance' with. Poor thing.

And we all know how it ends. But what makes it perfect is the way it grew naturally to this point. Their relationship is such that it would actually seem wrong if Rose hadn't gone back to be there for/save the Doctor and if the Doctor hadn't saved Rose the way he did.
(As stated before, I steal gifs from all over, so I send thanks to whoever I stole these from. Again. All credit to 'em.)
