So, it's time for day 18 of that amusing Who meme. And here's the problem, it's Fave Amy Moment.
Ok, so I didn't mind Amy in S5. She's never matched up to Rose, Martha or Donna for me, but she was good.
However in S6 I just lost patience with her character. Nothing against Karen Gillan, but the writing is bad. My main issue - no mother would get over losing a child that quickly. It doesn't matter if she knows that the child will grow up, she wouldn't accept it.

Anywoo, the point of this wasn't to start a random rant over one of the many reasons S6 annoys me.

So, going back to S5 to find this (without re-watching it, cause I can't be bothered yet). This is tricky, I've only watched S5/6 once. I will eventually re-watch them. Though mostly I'll re-watch S6 to see if it improves with a second viewing.

Damn, did it again. Bad me.

Anyway, my favourite Amy moment, comes in The Beast Below when she realises the truth about the star whale and talks about really old, really kind, last of your kind and not being able to watch children cry. (From the 5min mark in video). At this point I thought Amy had a lot of potential. It's a nice moment.

I have to admit my favourite Amy moment is when she decides to die in that dream episode because she has to make a choice and she decides she doesn't want to live without Rory. I've only just finished watching Series six so I'd have to really go back and see if there was anything else I liked about Amy.

Yeah, that was a good moment too. I forgot abut that one.

Actually, I didn't mind old Amy in 'The Girl Who Waited' but that was because you finally got to see Amy's strength, other than that, I have trouble thinking of any moments really.

Actually now I think about it I quite liked Amy in A good man goes to war as well. She had a few strong moments in that.

I probably agree with you, but I think I'm still blocking a lot of that episode out.
Oops. It's just hard, I've seen up to the specials a couple of times each at least (and I only started watching December or January).

But I'm still having troubles re-watching and so my memory is a little hazy.

Yeah it took me ages to start watching series six. Five was okay but six was a lot harder. Not that there was anything wrong with the episodes as such. Each one seemed pretty good but it was still hard to get into compared to Series one to four. Having said that I think Matt's doing a fine job as the Doctor but I'm pretty easily pleased.

I was watching S6 as it aired, or as close as you can here. And some of the episodes were actually really good (I did like The Girl Who Waited for example and I absolutely loved 'The Doctor's Wife) but overall, the series did very little for me.

It's not that Matt Smith is a bad Doctor, I just really think he deserves better stories. My biggest problem is in S5/6 I've been having so much trouble caring about the characters like I did back in S1-Specials.

Yes I think you are right although there were one or two episodes in each of series five and six that made me tear up mostly involving The Doctor or Rory though rather than Amy.

I did have a cry in the finale of Series 5 when the doctor is telling Amy not to forget him. Lol opposite of Nine telling Rose to forget him. Argh I'm listening to song for ten now on my hard drive. And its making me tear up too. "So have a good life do it for me. Make me so proud like you want me to be." Damn it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The Doctor and Rory were much better characters than Amy was/is. It's a shame really.

You know, I never thought about that. The forget/don't forget there. Interesting. And yes, those songs are evil if they creep up on you. I got caught the other day by Love Don't Roam popping up on my iPod.
