It occurs to me, that reaching day 16 means I have past the half way mark. Go me, I wasn't sure I'd make it this far.

Onwards! Day 16 – Fave Martha Moment. Hmm, I do like Martha, though I admit at first I just missed Rose, but once I got over that Martha grew on me.

Because it may not be the winning moment, but it is a great way for the main part of Martha's story to wrap up.

There is this one short scene in Human Nature that I find great on so many levels, it's literally so short, but it sticks out in my mind.

Joan: Excuse me, Martha. It's hardly good form to enter a master's study without knocking.
Martha: Sorry, right, yeah. (she runs back to the door and knocks it before returning) But is he alright?

This moment right here. It shows Martha's concern for the Doctor even when he's acting a bit like an idiot as a human (yes, I love Martha's line of 'You're rubbish as a human' a lot). It also shows despite the circumstances she has had to live with for 2 months (?) at this stage she still has the strength and audacity to be bloody cheeky.

dear dear Martha. She is so under rated as a companion and I blame the writers a bit because they could have given her more to work with. Like Russell T David did for her in Torchwood.

Still in Human Nature/Family of Blood I thought she was wonderful.

She shone beautifully of course in The Last of the Time Lords but its a pity it took so long to see what she was really made of. Didn't help that poor Martha got the short stick of being the Doctors companion after losing Rose either.

I do love Martha and I think I was happy when she fell in love with Tom Milligan. And I guess with Mickey too in the End of Time.

While she falls inline behind Rose and Donna, Martha is still up there with the best of the companions.

I know what you mean. I understand what RTD was doing in the sense he was giving us the other side of the love story. The Doctor can't love everyone the way he loved Rose. But sometimes it seems like he forgot to tell any other part of Martha's story.

But she was an amazing companion really. And like Rose and Donna had some moments where she just (to steal your term) shone :)
