Oh definitely. The better you know someone, the closer you are to them, the easier it is to hurt them. Or be hurt by them. It's a clever way of showing how close the Doctor and Rose are without ever actually saying anything about it.
Agreed. I keep assuming Moffat can't actually be that bad... But no matter what his personal life is like, his writing shows some really really worrying views of women and/or mothers. Especially mothers.
