Maybe it's the age and behaviour influencing how we see the character/actor?
Not sure how I noticed the RickRoll actually, but it made me giggle. But yesh! The Pete and Rose moments kill me in this episode. The way they connect despite all the issues. And I don't think I'll ever get through the "My Daddy" bit without getting smacked by it.
I definitely agree with you about Moffat. Every woman comes down to fulfilling their female roles essentially, a wife/mother/support etc. Or at least that's how it seems. It's just Rose never behaves like that any other time and no matter how sexy Jack is, she wouldn't turn into mush after a single dance.
