I enjoy The Long Game too, it's just it's sort of a half-arsed enjoyment, if that makes sense :P
As for the milk, I never considered it that way before. But it's quite possible that was the intention and I just missed it. Hmm... Interesting.
I'd definitely consider TEC/TDD Moffat's better work, though Blink isn't too bad (though never understood why so many people thinks it's the best episode ever and that's a different discussion). I admit the mother thing is something I didn't notice so much before Moffat's S4 and onwards work, but because of that, I can't not see it when it appeared here.
Though, Rose becoming the breathless, overwhelmed female probably frustrates me in a more episode specific way. I mean really?
