Bring on Day 16!

So day 16 of the Doctor and Rose. It's an interesting one. Well, I think so, but then I find a lot of things interesting.
Anyway, 'nough of that. Day 16: Favourite Rose Moment About The Doctor.

Weeeelll. I gotta say. It's Rose's turn for a speech. From The Parting of the Ways.

Specifically this part;
Rose: It was a better life. And I - I don't mean all the travelling and... seeing aliens and spaceships and things - that don't matter. The Doctor showed me a better way of living your life. You know, he showed you too. That you don't just give up. You don't just let things happen. You make a stand. You say no. You have the guts to do what's right when everyone else just runs away, and I just can't--

I think I love this moment because it does show how much the Doctor has shown Rose, about the universe, about life and about what she is capable of. She may have healed and helped him, but he showed her so much as well, especially in terms of her own strengths. And one of these strengths is that she can't find it in herself to leave the Doctor to die, or die alone as the case may be. She can't stand back and just let things happen when she knows she could be helping or supporting. Especially when it comes to the Doctor.

For me, one of the best things about their relationship is that they do help each other grow. They use the love and support the other offers to make themselves and the other better.

(I realise I may have rambled again. Can't help it, I did mention I adore S1 yes? Blame that.)

This is a great moment as we see just how much Rose has matured. It also shows Jackie and Mickey that Rose is a far cry from the teenage shop girl that they knew before she traveled with the Doctor. Her entire world is now so much bigger than just a bit of London. It is a huge eye opener for them as well.

For me, one of the best things about their relationship is that they do help each other grow. They use the love and support the other offers to make themselves and the other better. You are so right that the Doctor and Rose's relationship is anything but one sided. It became one of mutual love, affection, and admiration. So much so, that they would willingly sacrifice themselves for the other.

I think so too. Mickey and Jackie, at that stage, to stay in their defined world. Rose saying that makes them realise that she's not. I do like that she doesn't say she's better than them. But she wants something better from her life. Something I think a lot of people relate too.

It's why I love their relationship so much, I admit. Because it isn't one sided. Though I will admit, I have a softer spot for Nine and Rose. In some ways he's much more closed off, but in other ways, he's much more open to what Rose offers.

I do like that she doesn't say she's better than them. But she wants something better from her life. Something I think a lot of people relate too. This is a very very important difference. Well stated.

I always felt that Nine was thirsting for what Rose was offering him. He was so starved for anyone to care about him. For someone to show him his life was worth living. Rose was the perfect person for him at this time of his life.

I agree with you there. I think Nine was desperate for someone to care about him, not just what he could offer them, in terms of travel and adventure, but him as a person. While the travel might have been why Rose went with him, I think fairly early on she decided she was staying for him. And that's what he really needed/wanted.
