Fringe writers are mean.

Look, I'll be honest. As soon as Olivia started getting those flashes I suspected something like this was going to happen

But I'm normally wrong. I wasn't this time and it makes them so damn mean! Thought the episode was great, but seriously, that ending is just making me incredibly impatient.

Also, it seems like they're dropping hints that the world they were overlapping with was Peter's original. But then, given she apparently wasn't affected by what was happening in the town...

Damn them (and then bring on the next episode).

I pretty much feel like this was the only decent twist they could have picked, actually. Having the amber 'verses remain distinct from the blue and red 'verses would just be too confusing, and would be testing the limits of how many distinct characters we can respond to emotionally.

This actually (sort of) makes sense to me-- the 'blue and 'red verses were overwritten as amber when Peter was taken out of the timeline, but his reintroduction is causing them to revert (although I'm not sure whether the reversion is just starting now, or if it's been gradually occurring and is only now reaching a noticeable threshold. If it's the former, then we need a trigger... something September did, maybe?)

This allows us to keep most canon from all four season's intact... and with a minimum of hand-waving they could keep everything we've seen canon.

That said, I am now in preemptive mourning for amber 'verse Olivia/Lincoln adorableness. I suppose the reversion is affecting him by fading his connection to the Fringe Division, and therefore Olivia.
